Don’t just take our word for it. See for yourself the broad range of possible applications of ALMiG systems for supplying compressed air for the automotive sector. Below we have compiled a brief overview of our project portfolio. If you cannot find a relevant example for your particular application, please get in touch with our contact at ALMiG Rail Systems who will be happy to help.
The new three-section cars of the MX 3000 have been in use in Oslo since 2005. The metro vehicles are exposed to a harsh climate. They must withstand temperatures as low as −25 degrees Celsius and were therefore extensively tested in the climate wind tunnel. All vehicles are equipped with ALMiG compressors and compressed air treatment.

New metro cars produced by a consortium of Siemens and Newag have been in operation in Warsaw since 2011. Six module trains of the INSPIRO series are being used on lines 1 and 2. All vehicles are equipped with ALMiG compressors and air treatment systems.
Technical data for air generation TA 7 E:
ALSTOM (formerly GEC Alsthom) delivered more than 50 six and seven module underground rail trains for the Metro in Caracas. As part of a modernisation project in 2012, the operator „C.A Metro de Caracas” installed efficient ALMiGscrew compressors to replace the piston compressors of a major brake system manufacturer which had been used up until then. The extreme climatic conditions and high temperatures in the tunnel systems pose no problems to ALMiG compressors.

Hi-rail vehicles can travel both on the road and on rails. Vehicles of this kind are usually building machinery, maintenance vehicles or vehicles for shunting. ALMiG successfully collaborates in this area with several well-known manufacturers and deploys an extremely wide range of compressors worldwide. This involves using particularly flexible drive concepts on the compressor, such as the ALMiG hydraulic drive.

The Ee 922 and Eem 923 series of electrical shunting locomotives from SBB are used in Switzerland to provide an easy delivery and shunting service. The main features of the locomotives are their good environmental performance and low operating costs. The use of the energy-efficient and maintenance-friendly ALMiG screw compressor with air treatment contributes to this.

The Vectron locomotive can be freely configured for many possible uses and was introduced to the market by Siemens as the successor to the successful EURO Sprinter series. ALMiG develops and produces the compressors for the brake air of these locomotives.

The locomotive type ER24PC of the Eurorunner series is a vehicle built by Siemens for use in the Middle East. In this case the compressors are installed inside the locomotive in the engine room. Use in the region demands a great degree of reliability, especially in view of the prevailing climatic conditions.
